Interns are our camps’ “cool” factor! They are enthusiastic, friendly, and thoughtful high schoolers who volunteer at our leadership camps. We know the curriculum works and the teachers are amazing, but who do middle schoolers really want to learn from? You!
They are enthusiastic, friendly, and thoughtful high schoolers who mentor middle school kids at our leadership camps.
Characteristics: This position is available for young women and men in high school or college. Interns should exhibit the following characteristics, skills, and interests:
- Excellent conversation skills
- Creative thinking
- Empathy
- Sense of humor
- Responsibility and organization
- Interest in promoting the well-being of tweens and teens
Our interns work with our adult instructors to give our elementary and middle school campers valuable perspectives and skills to help them navigate the challenging years of adolescence…and beyond!
Our internships are not paid, but we do offer:
- A small stipend
- Leadership experience for college and job resumes
- Letters of recommendation
- Fun experiences for college essays
- The opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life and form great relationships
Athena’s Path ™ and Hero’s Pursuit Summer Camps are Monday-Friday for one week. Camp hours are usually 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. In-person camps are in Charlotte and we offer on line camps. When you intern with a camp, it’s important that you are available to work the entire camp time.
