Does your tween struggle with her fashion identity? Do you find yourself arguing over what looks good and appropriate for school? You may want to introduce your budding fashionista to the website Polyvore for relief from your fashion woes.
Polyvore is a website where photos of apparel from a plethora of online stores are available to mix and match to create outfits. It also helps you find clothes, shoes, and accessories from a wide variety of stores that you never would have found otherwise. It’s fun and safe for any age. Yes, moms, you should play, too!
When I was in middle school, I had some serious trouble figuring out what to wear. Not only was my body in the most awkward stage EVER (I didn’t quite fit into kid’s clothing anymore, but the junior’s section was still a bit too roomy), but I had trouble figuring out how to keep with the trends will still remaining true to my own style and comfort. Thanks to the AWESOME website Polyvore, you can put outfits together online and see what looks good. I wish I had this tool as a sixth grader… I might not have ended up wearing cargo pants and wedge flip-flops (yes, it happened). I went ahead and made a few middle school appropriate ensembles that I would feel comfortable wearing amongst classmates that I wanted to be friends with and teachers I wanted to impress!
Outfit Four: (and yes, I’m totally supportive of a sweatpants day at school!)
